Proctoring Notice

Transparent integrity signals with human review

Not every Valases assessment is proctored. When proctoring is enabled, you will see a notice and consent step before the assessment timer and proctoring session begin.

What may be checked

The assessment may request camera or microphone permission and may record fullscreen changes, tab visibility, focus changes, clipboard or restricted-shortcut events, and AI-assisted signals such as gaze direction, phone presence, or multiple people. The exact checks should be shown before you start.

Why signals are collected

Signals help the inviting organization review whether the assessment conditions may have changed. They can also help investigate technical issues and protect the integrity of submitted work.

How AI is used

AI helps organize observed events and produce advisory integrity signals for review. It does not determine misconduct or a hiring outcome; an authorized reviewer examines the signal, surrounding evidence, and candidate context.

No automatic employment decision

A warning, event, or AI-assisted signal is advisory evidence. It is not proof of misconduct and is not, by itself, a rejection or final employment decision. The inviting organization must review relevant context.

Your choices

You may decline consent and contact the inviting organization about an alternative process, accessibility accommodation, privacy concern, or review of a flagged attempt. Do this before starting whenever possible because the timer may begin after consent.

Retention and questions

The inviting organization determines the retention period and review process. Contact that organization for case-specific questions or privacy@valases.com for platform privacy questions.
